Quickstart: turn an issue into a pull request
Describe a change, mention devlo, and get a pull request back.
Before you begin: connect GitHub. To start from a GitHub issue, you need write access to the repository. To start from Jira or Slack, an owner or admin connects it first under Settings > Integrations.
-
Describe a small, well-defined change and mention devlo.
Mention
@devloai, in lowercase, in a new issue’s description or in a comment.jane Add a
/healthendpoint that returns{"status":"ok"}. @devloaiMention
@Devloand name the repository withrepo:<name>. See Jira.jane @Devlo repo:api add a
/healthendpoint that returns{"status":"ok"}Mention
@devloin a channel or direct message. See Slack.jane @devlo add a
/healthendpoint to acme/api that returns{"status":"ok"} -
devlo acknowledges the request and posts a status that it updates as it works. For non-trivial work, it may post a plan first. To approve, mention devlo again with
go ahead, or say what to change. -
devlo creates a branch, makes the change, runs checks, and opens a pull request. It links the pull request in its reply.
-
Review and merge the pull request; devlo never merges. To ask for changes, comment on it with
@devloai; devlo pushes to the same pull request. See Pull requests.
Each run uses credits.
Prefer a chat? Start one on the repository in the devlo app and describe the same change there.
