Troubleshoot coding

devlo stays silent when it isn’t allowed to act. Check that:

  • You have write access to the repository and are still a member of the organization in devlo (Settings > User Management).
  • The devlo GitHub App is installed on the repository.
  • You wrote @devloai in lowercase in a new issue, comment, or review thread reply, not in an edit or the summary box of a GitHub review.
  • On a pull request, the PR Assistant is on for the repository under Automations.

devlo usually can’t push to pull requests from forks or to a branch that was deleted, and says so in its reply. On pull requests, running tests needs the Startup plan or higher; on other plans devlo still pushes its changes.

  • If it posted a plan, mention it again (“go ahead”) to start the changes.
  • If it posted an error, check that the repository and branch still exist, then mention devlo again. If it keeps failing, try a narrower task.

devlo replies instead of running. Buy credits or upgrade, then mention devlo again.

The name after repo: must match a repository devlo can access, spelled exactly as on GitHub, without the owner. Fix it and mention @Devlo again. If devlo can’t find your organization, finish connecting Jira.

Invite @devlo to the channel, since it doesn’t see channels it isn’t in, and check that the workspace is connected in Settings > Integrations > Slack.

A repository isn’t offered when I start a chat in the app

Section titled “A repository isn’t offered when I start a chat in the app”

You need a seat in the repository’s organization and either write access to the repository or the owner or admin role there. If the organization isn’t listed, connect GitHub. If only the repository is missing, add it to the devlo GitHub App.

When the repository’s organization is on the Free plan, you can own 2 chats in total, projects included. Upgrade that plan to start more, or email help@devlo.ai to remove a chat you no longer need.

Still stuck? Email help@devlo.ai.
