# GitHub issues

> Mention @devloai in a GitHub issue to get a plan, then a pull request that resolves it.

Mention `@devloai` in a GitHub issue and devlo opens a pull request that resolves it. You need write access to the repository.

## Start a run

Put `@devloai`, in lowercase, in a new issue’s description or in a comment on the issue.

Caution

Editing a comment that contains `@devloai`, even to fix a typo, starts another run and uses credits again.

## What happens

1. devlo posts a status comment that it keeps updated.
2. For non-trivial work, it posts a plan and stops. Reply with a new `@devloai` comment to approve it (“go ahead”) or say what to change.
3. devlo makes the changes on a new branch and runs checks such as lint, build, and tests.
4. It opens a pull request and links it in the status comment.

To ask for changes, mention `@devloai` on the [pull request](/coding/pull-requests/). If the run fails, the status comment says so. See [Troubleshoot coding](/coding/troubleshooting/).
