# Publish and custom domains

> Publish a devlo project to a public URL, republish after changes, remove the devlo badge, and serve it from your own subdomain.

Paid plans

Publish your project to put the app at `https://<project-id>.devlo.app`.

## Publish

1. Select **Publish**, then **Confirm publish**.
2. Wait while devlo builds and deploys the app.
3. Select **Open live site**, or use the **Live** link next to **Publish**.

If publishing fails, see [Troubleshoot projects](/build/troubleshooting/#publishing-failed).

To take a site down, email <help@devlo.ai>.

## Republish

Republishing changes the live database

If devlo changed your tables since the last publish, republishing applies those schema changes to the live database and the data in it. See [Database and secrets](/build/database/).

Select **Publish** again after changes. The URL stays the same.

## Remove the devlo badge

Your app’s footer includes a devlo credit. To remove it, turn off **Devlo badge** in **Admin > Project Settings**, select **Save**, ask devlo to remove the credit, then publish again.

## Connect a custom domain

Serve your app from a subdomain you own, such as `www.example.com`. Publish the project first. Each project can have one domain.

1. Open **Admin > Domains**.
2. Enter your subdomain and select **Connect domain**.
3. At your DNS provider, add the records devlo shows, copying the values exactly.
4. Select **Check status**.

Verification can take a while after you add the records. devlo sets up HTTPS once it passes.

Root domains such as `example.com` aren’t supported. Redirect `example.com` to your subdomain at your DNS provider instead.

To remove the domain or switch to another, select **Disconnect**.
